Volcanoes National Park

Nyungwe Forest National Park

Best Time to Visit Rwanda

June–September (Long Dry Season — Best): Peak season. Drier trails, more comfortable trekking. Book gorilla permits 3–6 months ahead.

December–February (Short Dry Season): Excellent conditions, slightly fewer tourists than June–September. Good value for lodges.

March–May and October–November (Rainy): Heavier rain makes trekking muddier. Gorillas are in the forest year-round — sightings equally reliable.
