Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrive Hargeisa

City tour: MiG memorial, camel market, National Museum. Welcome dinner.

Day 2 — Laas Geel

Full-day Laas Geel rock art cave tour.

Day 3 — Berbera

Gulf of Aden coast, colonial architecture, seafood dinner.

Day 4 — Sheikh Pass

Highland mountain pass, colonial villas, mountain views.

Day 5 — Drive East to Burao

Drive east to Burao (Somaliland’s second city, 240km from Hargeisa). The Togdheer region’s landscape transitions from semi-arid scrubland to more open plateau. Burao livestock market — one of the largest camel markets in the Horn of Africa. Traditional weaving. Overnight Burao.

Day 6 — Daallo Escarpment

Drive toward Erigavo direction and the Cal Madow range. The Daallo Forest escarpment at 2,400m — Africa’s easternmost cloud forest, with Dragon’s Blood Trees (Dracaena ombet), ancient frankincense trees, and breathtaking views over the Gulf of Aden. Return toward Hargeisa direction, overnight en route.

Day 7 — Return Hargeisa — Depart

Morning return to Hargeisa. Depart.
