Drive to the Diksam Plateau (300–1,500m elevation) — the primary habitat of the Dragon’s Blood Tree (Dracaena cinnabari). Walking tour through the extraordinary umbrella-canopy forests. Photography time.
Drive to eastern Socotra. Trek to Hoq Cave (1.5 hours uphill). Over 4km of cave passages — stalactites, stalagmites, ancient sailor inscriptions from across the Indian Ocean world.
Eastern Socotra beaches — powder white sand, turquoise water, near-total solitude. Camping on the beach.
Drive across island to Qalansiyah on the western coast. The Qalansiyah lagoon — a wide tidal lagoon backed by white sand dunes, often voted among the most beautiful beaches in Asia/Arabia. Swimming, snorkelling.
Detwah Lagoon (UNESCO biosphere). Dixam canyon. Afternoon free on the beach.
